Your body already knows what it needs. Ayurveda simply helps you listen.
Ayurveda, the ancient Indian science of life, rests on a foundational idea: every person has a unique biological constitution, shaped by three energies known as doshas. Understanding yours is not a wellness trend. It is a map to living in alignment with your own nature.
Ayurvedic philosophy centres on three fundamental energies: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Vata, associated with air and space, drives movement and communication. Pitta draws on the energy of fire and water to govern transformation and metabolism. Kapha, rooted in earth and water, provides the body with structure and stability. All three exist within every individual, though one or two tend to dominate, forming what Ayurveda calls one’s prakriti, or natural constitution.
Vata-dominant individuals tend to be creative, quick-thinking, and energetic, yet prone to anxiety, dry skin, and irregular digestion when out of balance. Pitta types are driven, articulate, and precise, but may experience inflammation, irritability, or acidity under stress. Kapha individuals are calm, nurturing, and steady by nature, yet susceptible to sluggishness and congestion when their energy stagnates.
Knowing your dosha is only the beginning. Ayurveda is less concerned with labelling and more focused on restoring balance. Seasonal changes, dietary habits, sleep patterns, and emotional states all influence your doshic balance. A Pitta imbalance in summer, for example, may manifest as skin flare-ups or short temper, even in someone with a predominantly Kapha constitution.
Structured Ayurvedic treatment is one of the most effective ways to address doshic imbalance. At the Siddhalepa Ayurveda Centre, guests receive personalised consultations with qualified Ayurvedic physicians who assess their constitution and prescribe therapies, herbal formulations, and dietary guidance accordingly. It is traditional healing at its most precise.
A dedicated Ayurveda spa offers more than relaxation. It provides a therapeutic space where treatments such as Abhyanga, Shirodhara, and Swedana are administered with clinical intention, using herbal oils selected specifically for one’s dosha. In such environments, healing is not incidental. It is the entire purpose.
