Understanding the Role of Prakurthi

In Ayurveda, Prakurthi refers to an individual’s unique body constitution, determined by the balance of the three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—influencing everything from physical characteristics and metabolism to emotional tendencies.

At the Siddhalepa Ayurveda Nature Resort, every guest begins their journey with a detailed consultation by experienced physicians who assess their Prakurthi to design a treatment plan that aligns with their natural constitution. This personalised approach ensures therapies, herbal preparations, and dietary guidelines complement your Prakurthi.

Bringing balance and harmony to the Doshas forms the foundation of Ayurveda healing – which all begins with an individual’s Prakurthi.

Prakurthi

In Ayurveda, Prakurthi—literally meaning “the first creation”—refers to an individual’s inherent constitution, formed at the moment of conception. It represents the unique blend of physical, mental, and emotional qualities that define one’s natural state of balance. This innate composition not only distinguishes each person but also their treatment. Discovering one’s Prakurthi is the first step toward understanding the self: how the body functions, how the mind responds, and how to nurture inner and outer harmony. By aligning with this understanding, one cares for the body and mind in ways that support true vitality and natural beauty.

Components of the Body

Ayurveda teaches that every individual is composed of three life-sustaining forces, or Doshas. Complementing the Doshas are the Dhatus and Malas, the structural and eliminative components of the body. The Dhatus—plasma (Rasa), blood (Rakta), muscle (Mamsa), fat (Meda), bone (Asthi), marrow (Majja), and reproductive tissue (Shukra)—sustain life by nourishing and maintaining bodily strength. The Malas—feces, urine, and sweat—serve as essential waste products that purify the system and uphold internal balance.

A Harmonious Treatment

Bringing harmony to the Doshas, Dhatus, Malas, and Agni lies at the heart of Ayurveda. This balance restores the body’s innate intelligence, allowing natural healing and rejuvenation to occur. At Siddhalepa resident physicians design a personalised treatment plan that aligns the individual’s internal rhythms with the natural world—awakening vitality, promoting inner peace, and revealing the body’s inherent radiance.
